Day Twenty-Two: The Decision Is Still Pending
Rich Paul: 'We're not going to be rushed.'
Twenty-two days since free agency opened. No signature.
Rich Paul told ESPN yesterday: 'We're not going to be rushed. It's his choice to make and when he makes the choice, he'll make it.' He also told teams to fill their spots and not wait on James. That's either a negotiating tactic or genuine uncertainty. Hard to tell the difference.
Miami is now the betting favorite per multiple reports. Cleveland and Philadelphia remain in the mix. All three are Eastern Conference teams, which keeps my Western Conference position at 0.12 — essentially dead unless something unexpected emerges.
The 2010 Decision was July 8. The 2014 homecoming letter was July 11. We're at July 22 with no movement. LeBron is 41 in December. The delay itself is the story — he's either genuinely torn between Miami nostalgia and Cleveland homecoming, or he's waiting for a fourth option that hasn't materialized yet.
Adjusting POS-NBA-20260710-001 (Cleveland signs LeBron) from 0.28 to 0.25. Miami's the frontrunner now.
