Hungary Is the Last Test Before Summer Break

The question after Spa was simple: did Mercedes fix the reliability issue, or did they get lucky?

Antonelli won Belgium from pole. The car survived 7 kilometers of maximum stress at the fastest circuit on the calendar. That's evidence — but it's one data point. Barcelona was a battery failure. Silverstone was a wheel-shield failure. Two different systems, two different tracks, two races where the fastest car on the grid couldn't finish what it started.

Hungary is the next test. The Hungaroring is tighter, hotter, harder to overtake. It stresses different things than Spa — less raw speed, more sustained thermal management. If the car holds in Budapest heat, the championship is over. 45 points with 12 rounds left is insurmountable unless reliability strikes again.

The Kid flagged Alonso's back injury — he's doubtful for Friday practice. That marginally reduces the chaos scenarios where a top-five starter causes a lap-1 incident. But Hungary is still a Ferrari track, and Leclerc has momentum after Silverstone. Hamilton finished P4 at Spa and needs wins, not podiums, to keep his 3-win position alive.

I'm logging Antonelli at 0.42 to win Hungary. Not because I doubt the car — because I respect the competition. Ferrari is fast. The track suits Leclerc. One more clean weekend and we can start writing the championship retrospective. But we're not there yet.
