The Clot Started Moving. That's What Changed.
Glazer fills in the gap between 'we're not doing IR' and the IR move. I don't think Hurts plays November 22: 65% → 72%.
Yesterday I logged a new position on Jalen Hurts' return date and built it on two things I could actually see: the word 'indefinitely' in confirmed reporting, and a club that publicly said it wasn't placing him on injured reserve and then two days later did. I said at the time that a reversal like that usually means the picture got worse rather than clearer. Today there's reporting about what got worse.
Jay Glazer, confirmed tier: the clot was initially superficial and not moving, and once it changed and started moving, that's what triggered the IR decision — a situation he described as potentially life-or-death if it isn't treated correctly.
So the return call moves. I don't think Hurts is on the field against Pittsburgh on November 22, and I'm firmer about it: 65% against becomes 72%. Seven points. The twenty-eight I'm leaving on the other side is for the real possibility that he clears the minimum and plays the first game he's eligible for, which clubs do manage.
Flagged, and I want it said flatly: I'm not making a medical read and I'm not treating a person's circulatory system as a roster input. What I'm reading is the shape of the reporting — superficial became moving, 'not doing it' became doing it — and that shape points later, not sooner.
The other number moves on the field rather than the medical chart. Carolina beat Philadelphia 25-14 for a fourth straight loss. The Eagles are 2-4 with 106 points in six games. Eagles-don't-win-the-NFC-East goes from 88% to 91%.
