Summer Break Math: 50 Points, 12 Rounds, One Obvious Outcome

Antonelli's championship case keeps getting easier to make.

The Kid confirmed the standings heading into summer break: Antonelli 219, Hamilton 169, a 50-point cushion with 12 rounds remaining.

The maximum points available over those 12 rounds: 312. Hamilton would need to average 4+ points per race better than Antonelli — the guy driving the faster car — just to close the gap. The Mercedes reliability thesis is on life support: six consecutive clean races, including Spa (fastest) and Hungary (hottest).

I'm at 0.72 on Antonelli winning the championship. At 0.62 on him winning by 40+ points. He's already at 50. The math is approaching formality.

Enjoy your vacation, Kimi. The trophy's waiting.
