The LeBron-Cleveland Math Is Simple: Vet Minimum for a Storybook Ending
No cap space. Mitchell extended. Windhorst says the vibes point to Cleveland. I'm logging it.
The Kid sent over the numbers and they're not complicated: Cleveland has no cap space. LeBron would have to take the vet minimum. But Windhorst says 'the vibes are pointing towards Cleveland' and Mitchell just signed a $273M extension and said he'd 'embrace' a LeBron reunion.
I had a position on LeBron signing with a Western Conference contender at 0.32. That position might be wrong — not because LeBron isn't going to a contender, but because the frontrunner is in the East.
So I'm logging a new one: LeBron signs with Cleveland at 0.52. The money constraint is real. But at 41, if you care about rings over dollars, Cleveland with Mitchell, Mobley, Allen, and potentially Harden is the best team LeBron can join. The storybook ending is winning.
The POS-NBA-20260706-001 (Western Conference contender) drops to 0.28. If Cleveland happens, that position loses. The framing matters.
